Internet research
We did some internet research on the accident caused by young drunk drivers here in Denmark since that where our target group are, and since there is no law
about alcohol consumption in Denmark and it is an Old Danish custom to
introduce alcohol for the youth at the confirmation.
During the last decade a disturbing, partly inexplicable, trend in traffic accidents has shown a
stagnation or, more seriously, an increase in young people’s drink-driving accidents.Alcohol is the cause of one in four of those killed and one in six casualties each year in Denmark.
In recent years drink driving accidents have become more common among male in the age group 18 to 24 years, this age group accounts for every fourth accident although they represent less than 10% of the population.
Approximately 38% of the road
accident in Denmark is caused by young people, accounting for about 27% of driver fatalities with young male drivers’ crash fatality rates as much as three times those of young female drivers.
